Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (AKA) was founded on a mission comprised of five basic tenets that have remained unchanged since the sorority’s inception more than a century ago. Alpha Kappa Alpha’s mission is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of “Service to All Mankind". Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated, a college Fraternity, now comprised of functioning Undergraduate and Alumni Chapters on major campuses and in cities throughout the country, is the crystallization of a dream. It is the beautiful realization of a vision shared commonly by the late Revered Founders Elder Watson Diggs; John Milton Lee; Byron Kenneth Armstrong; Guy Levis Grant; Ezra Dee Alexander; Henry Tourner Asher; Marcus Peter Blakemore; Paul Waymond Caine; Edward Giles Irvin and George Wesley Edmonds. The members of the Lambda Beta Chapter have participated in AIDSwalk Los Angeles, an event which raises money to find a cure for the disease and feeding the homeless during the holidays, which is an attempt Kappa makes to connect back with the community. By doing these things, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. shows its dedication towards inspiring service in the public interest and encouraging achievement in every field of human endeavor.

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated is the first international fraternal organization founded on the campus of a historically black college. Thirkield Hall) at Howard University located in Washington, D.C. The founders were three undergraduates -- Edgar Amos Love, Oscar James Cooper and Frank Coleman. Joining them was their faculty adviser, Ernest Everett Just.
"friendship is essential to the soul," the name Omega Psi Phi was derived. That phrase was selected as the motto.
Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift were adopted as Cardinal Principles.
On November 23, 1911, Edgar A. Love became the first Grand Basileus (National President). Oscar J. Cooper and Frank Coleman were selected to be the Grand Keeper of the Records (National Secretary) and Grand Keeper of Seals (National Treasurer), respectively. The chapter consists Claremont Colleges, University of La Verne, Cal Poly Pomona, California State University, Fullerton, University of California Irvine.
